Ok.. here's the latest. Jack has $784.25 left in his IMOM fund that can be used for surgery. Hoorrayyyy!!! That's a great start! Now.. of the $2300 we have to raise, there's only $1515.75 left. I know we can do it. We've seen so many miracles for pets through IMOM that there's no doubt we will have one for Jack.
I just thought you all might want to know a little more about Jack and Debbie. The State of Missouri is so fortunate to have wonderful people and pets living there like these two.
Debbie is the kindest, most wonderful woman you'd ever want to meet. She not only loves and cares for Jack, she also has 4 dogs, 4 cats, 2 birds, 5 horses that she cares for. She's been part of animal rescue for probably as long as she can remember. Can you tell she loves animals?
Debbie and Jack have such a bond... they are like velcro. Where one goes, the other is right there. They're in no way "pet" and "master"... they are best friends, buddies, pals and have spirits that have conjoined as one. Jack has had such a hard time dealing with this cancer, but he's been a rock through the entire thing. His beautiful Mom has done everything in her power (and even more than anyone could imagine) to get care and treatment for him. She even helps clean out stalls that her vet owns to help pay off her debt to him. She's quite a lady.
Jack and Debbie have been traveling from St. Joe to Columbia, three hours one way, since October. In October and November, she spent seven weeks there so Jack could have his radiation treatments.. never went home until they were finished. They still go down there for follow up visits. She will again be driving to Columbia for Jack's surgery. With gas prices so high, she barely has enough to keep her in town right now, so she is selling every thing she can at garage sales and is even going to sell home-made lemonade in the park to help raise the money for gas. She is one special, loving, focused Mom.
Debbie has had many financial difficulties... especially since Jack has been ill. Her roof and part of her house were damaged during a horrendous storm in the Fall, her furnace and plumbing died during the worst of winter, her car broke down leaving her stranded without transportation, she got pneumonia and could hardly take care of herself... and yet, through all this, she continued caring for Jack (and the other animals too, of course). Since she has no health insurance, she fought off the pneumonia on her own (which was stupid), she brought in firewood to keep warm, she used her Mom's car to go take care of the horses. She just never gives up. The word "quit" is not in her vocabulary.
So, that's just a little about this awesome pair. We want to keep them together as long as God let's them. And we believe it's in His plan to cure Jack... especially since this surgery seems to have been created for him.
Thank you all for reading this and learning a bit more about why we love these two so very much. Please... time is short, and we need your help. Thank you for anything you can do, and if you can't donate... thank you for your prayers... we definitely believe in the power of love and prayers.
